Under this project, Dr. Cagney, Director, Institute for Social Research, Professor, Department of Sociology, and Research Professor, Survey Research Center at the University of Michigans Institute for Social Research, will work as MPI with Dr. Copeland and his team at the University of Vermont and V. Joseph Hotz and his team at Duke University. The Survey Research Operations (SRO), located at the University of Michigan, will provide sample design services, manage the sample purchase, and provide consultation on sample monitoring and interviewer training. The SRO Director of Sampling Operations will design and oversee implementation of the sampling plan and the purchase of an Address Based Sample (ABS), composed of addresses selected from the USPS sequence delivery file. Dr. Cagney will participate in weekly project meetings and be involved in developing the survey instrument, advising on aspects of field operations, identifying key variables for analysis, and implementing data analysis strategies. Dr. Cagney will participate as an active author or co-author on any publications resulting from the project and present findings at seminars and conferences.
