The aim of this project is to bring together experts in the social and behavioral sciences to assess the need for a new nationally representative household longitudinal study in the United States tracking social and behavioral outcomes and processes. If it is determined that a significant need exists, the project will develop options for the major design features of the new study. A by-product of the project that will be important for moving forward will be the development of a community of scholars interested in, and willing to devote effort to, a new survey of this type.
