Cognitive and Non-Cognitive Mechanisms Survey

The purpose of this study is to provide supplemental funding to complete approximately 125 in-person interviews with male students aged 12-18 from 12 pre-selected Chicago Public Schools at a weighted response rate of 88-90 percent. Respondents will have been pre-sampled prior to SRO involvement as part of the larger umbrella study, and the Principal Investigator will work with both the Chicago Public School District and the selected schools to obtain permission for SRO to contact students in school and, if possible, conduct the survey administration in the school. Students will be asked to complete approximately 20-minutes of self-administered paper-and-pencil math achievement testing in addition to participating in a 40-minute in-person interview with an interviewer.
