The purpose of the project is to describe and explain changes and continuity in family support, as well as assess the repercussions of receiving support over time. This will be accomplished by following up with approximately 1,799 respondents from 633 family units last interviewed in 2008. In addition to 633 middle-aged adults, interviewers will attempt to locate and interview their 592 grown children, 377 aging parents, and 197 spouses.
