Cowan presents “The Effect of a Universal Cash Transfer on Fertility and Newborn Health: the Case of the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend.” Cowan is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at New York University (NYU) and the founder and Executive Director of the Cash Transfer Lab. A social demographer with expertise in American fertility, social networks, and survey methodology, Sarah obtained her Ph.D. in sociology and demography at the University of California, Berkeley.
