Differences in Active Life Expectancy Persisted Between 1982 and 2011
Vicki Freedman and Brenda Spillman’s study examined changes in life expectancy for black and white adults ages 65 and older between 1982 and 2011. They found longevity increased and disability decreased for whites, but increases in longevity for blacks were offset by earlier disability.
