Joelle Abramowitz discussed the impact of the Roe v. Wade decision on health insurance coverage
Even before the reversal of Roe v. Wade, health insurance coverage of the procedure was limited. In an article on CNBC, Joelle Abramowitz points out that employers with self-funded health insurance may be able to maintain abortion coverage. She has some suggestions regarding “out of network” benefits, which may need to be used to access abortion: ask your insurance company about the benefits and how they work; it may be less expensive to pay out-of-pocket and many providers work on a sliding scale; and it’s worth asking if there are any in-network providers in another state.
