Listening to the same songs on a loop
In a study published in Psychology of Music, Fred Conrad, et al. explored why and how participants in a survey listen to the same songs over and over. Approximately 86% of the participants listened to their favorite song daily or a few times a week and 60% listened to it multiple times consecutively. Conrad says, “Niche listening may enable listeners to develop the kind of personally meaningful relationships with particular songs that allows their affection for those songs to persist across very large amounts of exposure.”
