Medicaid expansion created jobs & economic activity in Michigan

A report by John Z. Ayanian, Gabriel M. Ehrlich, Donald R. Grimes, and Helen Levy in the New England Journal of Medicine, Economic Effects of Medicaid Expansion in Michigan, finds that Michigan’s expansion of Medicaid benefits under the Affordable Healthcare Act has resulted in insurance coverage for approximately 600,000 low-income adults, as well as economic benefits for the state, including added jobs and increased economic activity.
