Middle-Aged Adults Are Binge Drinking and Using Marijuana at Record Levels

The annual report (PDF) on the Monitoring the Future panel is out now. This annual survey of substance use behaviors and attitudes of adults 19 to 60 years old found that binge drinking, marijuana, and hallucinogen use reached historic highs among adults 35 to 50. Megan Patrick discussed the results with the New York Times:

“Drug use trends evolve over decades and across development, from adolescent to adulthood. It’s important to track this so that public health professionals and communities can be prepared to respond.”
