Raphael Nishimura discussed the elections in Brazil with BBC News Brazil
Electoral polls from several respected institutions agree that former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) leads the polls, while the current president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), is in second place. However the size of the lead varies widely. Raphael Nishimura discussed the reasons for this with BBC News Brazil, pointing out that election polls only show what voters are thinking at the time of the interview and not necessarily what they will do at the ballot box.
