U-M research contributed nearly $100M to state’s economy in 2021
A new report from the Institute for Research on Innovation & Science (IRIS) shows that spending by the University of Michigan contributing nearly $100 million to large and small business statewide. Rebecca Cunningham, vice president for research and the William G. Barsan Collegiate Professor of Emergency Medicine, said, ““Research led by teams across our three campuses continues to spur tremendous advancements that positively impact society, and as part of this important activity, we all play an essential role in accelerating economic growth and strengthening our workforce.”
