Despite their good financial position, Americans believe the economy is terrible

According to the Surveys of Consumers, while more Republicans rate the economy worse than Democrats, both groups rate the economy as low as they did in the 2010s when unemployment was high and Americans’ finances were in a much worse state. Richard Curtin says, 'The major issue is rising inflation and falling confidence in economic policies. Consumers see rising prices, and they see no policies that would correct it.'
