Trained in environmental psychology and architecture, Dr. Rollings’ research examines effects of built, natural, and social environments on physical and mental health within residential settings and among vulnerable populations (e.g., low-income, unstably housed, older adults, children). Current NIH-funded work focuses on housing design and quality, neighborhood disadvantage, and developing metrics of federally-assisted housing relevant to health in collaboration with the National Neighborhood Data Archive (NaNDA). She was the inaugural visiting Health and Design Research Fellow at the University of Michigan Medical School and Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, and previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture and Department of Psychology. Dr. Rollings received her M.S. and Ph.D. in Human Behavior and Design from Cornell University’s Department of Design and Environmental Analysis (now Human-Centered Design) and B. Architecture from the University of Notre Dame.
