Brady West & collaborators find youth who take medication for ADHD for an extended period of time early in life are no more at risk for substance abuse than teens without ADHD

Sean Esteban McCabe, Kara Dickinson, Brady West, & Timoth E. Wilens also find that teens who start using Ritalin, Adderall, or other ADHD medications for a short time later in adolescence are at high risk of substance abuse. This study used data from the Monitoring the Future survey.
