This contract is for survey methodology consulting services in the development of the American Community Survey (ACS) Internet application.
The Methods Panel Internet team of the American Community Survey has been tasked with developing an Internet version of the ACS and Puerto Rico Community Survey (PRCS) survey instruments. While Census team members are versed in survey methodology, web survey design, usability practices, and collecting household demographic surveys, the design of an Internet application has nuances that require expertise on the latest research and best practices in the survey methodology field. For example, how do we take advantage of Internet technology yet maintain a consistent meaning and intent of a question and thus, maintain consistency between the various data collection modes?
As the ACS Methods Panel Internet team proceeds through the application design phases, guidance from experts currently conducting Internet research would greatly benefit the project.
