ScienceON is an open platform developed by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) for providing scholars worldwide with information about research trends and topics in science and technology by analyzing metadata and contents in various data sources such as research papers, patents, and reports. As the number of ScienceON users keeps increasing, the platform needs to maximize user utilization by making ScienceON services intelligent through linking heterogeneous S&T Knowledge Infrastructures and convergence of diverse information sources and knowledge. This requires KISTI to transform its current ScienceON services into Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based services, for which KISTI needs to pursue a joint research with overseas institutions with knowledge of advanced AI technology and applications. This project aims to provide KISTI an overview of trends and AI-Based tools in services similar to ScienceON and suggestions for AI-Based service models to be implemented on ScienceON.
