This project investigates how predisposing factors (methylation, gene expression, mitochondrial exhaustion, and clinical biological age) and precipitating factors (socioeconomic status, psychosocial stressors, and neighborhood) together influence age-related health conditions (age-related morbidity and mortality). If funded, the University of Michigan subcontract will provide assistance obtaining Health and Retirement Study (HRS) data, conceptualizing research questions, creating and analyzing HRS data files, and will participate in manuscript preparation.
