Vicki Freedman Finds Women’s Longer Life Expectancy Means More Years With Disability

According to a new study by Vicki Freedman, Douglas Wolf and Brenda Spillman, while both men and women gained in life expectancy, women spend more years after the age of 65 with a disability than do men. The reason are unclear. They could include unequal progress in treating women’s health conditions, different lifestyle habits, or few economic resources.
