BIO
Dharma Akmon is the Director of Project Management and User Support. She joined ICPSR in 2016 from ProQuest, where she was the platform manager for dissertations tools and services. Her research has focused on scientific data practices, including how scientists view the long-term value of their data and how they manage their own data for short- and medium-term use. As part of the SEAD project and other cyberinfrastructure development efforts, she has been particularly interested in using such knowledge to build better tools to facilitate the long-term preservation and accessibility of data. Akmon received a Ph.D. and M.S. in Information from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in History from Michigan State University.
